Google meet breakout rooms are not available unless your conference organizer has enabled it in advance. However, breakout rooms can be created during a Google meet session for specific groups of participants. To access or start a breakout room, click on ‘Participants’ on Google meet and look for the person icon located at the top left of your screen. This will take you to all other participants present in that particular chat.

Whether you want to create an area where your team can brainstorm ideas, or you want a private place where executives can discuss sensitive information, creating a breakout room is simple. Simply start a meeting in Google Meet, invite specific people and select Create new breakout room from the More menu. Each person added as an attendee will see breakout rooms appear on their dashboard after they’re added. If anyone invites you into a breakout room that doesn’t exist yet, simply click Join by video call and click Enter the new room to get started. It’s really that easy!
